Ringing Of Your Ears Might Be A Symptom

There are a multitude of ailments and situations that can cause ringing of the ear. Just about all of us has experienced ringing of our ears from time to time which usually goes away as quickly as it arrived. However a ringing of your ears might be a symptom of some other condition. A ringing in the ear or ears that does not go away is known as Tinnitus, however there are many reasons that you may have ringing of the ear.

Possible causes of ringing of the ear:

1: Anxiety:

If you have a ringing in your ears you may be suffering from Anxiety. People who suffer from anxiety and/or panic attacks can experience ringing in their ears, although it does not necessarily mean that you are suffering from anxiety.

2: High Blood Pressure:

Some people who suffer from high blood pressure experience ringing noises in their ears. This ringing could be a warning symptom that you have high blood pressure. Or, if you have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and since taking your medication you have experienced a ringing in your ears, this could be a side-effect of the medication. Either way a visit to your health professional to get your blood pressure checked or your medication monitored is necessary.

3: High Cholesterol:

High cholesterol levels cause blockages in the blood vessels and when this happens blood pressure can be affected due to its efforts to force itself past these blockages. When this happens in the blood vessels close to the ear it can cause ringing, pulsing or rushing sound in the ears. Again, a visit to your health professional will quickly rule this in or out.

4: Sinus Problems:

The body sometimes has problems eliminating the mucus from the sinuses and ears, and this can build up and cause pressure which in turn can cause ringing in the ears. There are many medications out there to deal with sinus problems, such as antibiotics and antihistamine.

5: Allergies:

We seem to be seeing more and more people suffering from allergies, an enormous subject in itself. But if you do suffer from allergies then this may be a cause of ringing in the ear.

Briefly, other disorders that could possibly be responsible for ringing in the ears are, Presbycusis, loss of hearing which is age-related, tension in the muscles, Temporomanibular joint disorder, thyroid problems, and a deficiency of B12. I know I have said it before, but if you believe that you have any of these conditions, visit your health professional and get a check up.

Last but not least is the condition termed Tinnitus. And this is by far the most common cause of ringing in the ears. This ringing can only be heard by the person suffering from Tinnitus. Not only ringing is heard, buzzing, popping, white noise and whining have all been reported by sufferers. The treatment for Tinnitus varies from person to person. In the majority of cases a cure can't be affected. However, I have heard of people who have been told that they could not be cured having varying degrees of success using Complimentary treatments, such as acupuncture, acupressure, homeopathy and hypnosis. Some people have had success with implants.

When your health professional says he can't do anything for you, then try Complimentary therapies, in a percentage of cases these therapies have had successes when all other efforts have failed.
